MTV is the famed "Music Video Network" where teens all over America spend countless hours glued to their TVs watching the channel.
MTV Networks has been getting into gaming lately, with features on weekends with video reviews and other similar airings.
They are launching a cross-advertising campaign with the North-American launch of Maple Story, as weel as Final Fantasy 3 DS ads, 360 spots, and others.
So it's not surprising to see them getting into the groove with an exclusive interview with the man behind Nintendo US of A, Reggie Fils-Aime. (He also manages the rest of North America)
Besides expanding on the Wii's huge success, flying Wii-Motes, and huge game sales.
The Commander-of Nintendo-iin Chief tells MTV he will answer every question they have to a limited extent, and has plenty of tid-bits for us.
Regarding the Virtual Console "Mondays" which have been arriving inconsistantly, Reggie notes that Nintendo's game-plan is to bring classic hits to America when that month is having a drought of games, for instance when only 3rd-party titles like Need For Speed would come out that month [Example] Nintendo will release Super Mario Bros or a classic hit.
He also crypticly states that Nintendo is working on aquiring the rights to Golden-Eye for the N64 from Activision[James Bond Rights] and Microsoft[Rare].
Another interesting tidbit is Reggie comments on the drought of online supported games.
He says that online titles will be arriving in early 2000, but more interestingly new unannounced online titles are on their way.
Another juicy tidbit is that gamers will be receiving a nice little present sometime near christmas, we can only hope a message from Nintendo and possibly a free Virtual Console game as well as some title announcements.
"Fils-Aime confirmed that Wiis connected to the Internet will automatically download surprise bonus material from Nintendo, but he wouldn't detail what kind of unexpected messages or channels might pop up. "I'd hate to ruin the surprise. Is there activity that we're working on for before the holidays? The answer is yes.' "- MTV Interview+ Reggie.
We'll keep you updated throughout December if anything turns up.
