I bet your wondering why this is not good news, well, it can be good, but realistically it is bad news, for Sony and their "followers". See the picture below:

I took this picture on 1/2/07 at my local GameStop. I asked the store manager how many PS3s he had in stock. He said " more than 6 but less than 10" why he couldn't tell me an exact number I will never know. I'm sure your thinking, "well, they must have come in that day:. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and say that they did just come in and have yet to be sold. But I have continued to check the stock on the PS3 every day till today (1/7/06).
Well, I bet you can guess what I discovered. He only sold 1 PS3 in those 5 days. I know I know, your thinking "this store must be really really slow and in a small town." Well, no this is in Mesa Arizona where we have a population of about 442,800. This store is always crammed with people.
OK, why is this a bad thing, PS3s in stock should be a good thing. The problem is, if PS3s are in stock, and they aren't selling. that means that people don't want them, which means that developers aren't going to make games for a console that has a small user base, which means that no good games will come out for the PS3, which will lead to gamers not wanting to pick up a PS3, and so on.
This is just another report of PS3 NOT being sold, this is happening all over the country and the world (Japan). I believe that the PS3 will be what the PSP is today, it will never catch up to the competition, but there is one thing to take into consideration, the PS3 first needs to sell before it can become a PSP, the PSP at least sold.
The PS3 has sold about 1 million consoles world wide, the Wii has sold about 5 million, world wide. 5 million, in one month (give or take a few days)
Sony needs to look at the past mistakes of Nintendo and see that there is more to proprietary formats and power. They need to get back to the basics and innovate. If you don't innovate, you will slowly die.
Editor's note: After publishing this article, I have discovered that Sony has stop selling their monitors. Could this be foreshadowing things to come? Only time will tell.

You see this as a bad thing? I certainly do not! Viva La Nintendo!
This is a bad thing for Sony, it may be a good thing for Nintendo.
