I'm going to go on a whim and say that it is a trend. Which means that sometime next month there will be another new channel. What could it be? Here are some thoughts:
!!M channel: Quite a while ago, before the Wii launched, there was alot of talk, rumors if you will, about the Wii's built in Instant Messaging client, called !!M. Everyone seems to have forgotton about it, and there has been no word from Nintendo about it, so who knows? Maybe the next surprise channel we get will be instant messaging!
Media channel: This seems to be quite a popular one among online forums and the like when people are asked what channels they want. Perhaps Nintendo has listened to all the fans wanting this, and has put it under development. I am torn between a Media channel and a instant messaging channel. On one hand, you can watch movies and listen to music from your Wii, and on the other hand you could talk to people instantaneously. Hmm...
DS Demo channel: Another popular one. In this channel, you would be able to use the Wii's wireless capabilities to send game demos to your DS. Who needs those DS download stations when you have your very own right at home!
No matter what channel it is, i'm all in favour of Nintendo releasing all this free software. I'm sure most of you are to, afterall, you can't really beat it when it's free ;)

I'd love to see the homebrew support that the xbox now has ...a homebrew channel?
I would like to see some useful channels being made, maybe a DS demo channel, TV channel, maybe even spend time on some online VC and wii games?
I doubt there will be online VC games, but we do know there will be online Wii games :) cant wait.
well with the updatable version of that half-assed VC game, they open doors for making other games having updatable patches for online.

Why the fuck would you want a TV channel on your Wii? Surely you play your Wii though a TV yeah?
