Using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, players will be able to speak to online opponents via the DS' built in microphone, or using the DS headset. Most likely, the feature will be of the same "walkie-talkie" capabilities as Metroid Prime: Hunters, where players cannot speak at the same time.
Nintendo have unsurprisingly confirmed that the chat feature will only be available to players who are your registered friends. We'll have more on the games as their release nears.
