Metroid Prime 3 is the final game in the Prime series. This is one of the most anticipated games of 2007 if not of all time. From what we have seen of the game so far...it will be amazing....but when are we going to get our hands on it? Well you may not know but Metroid was originally (back in the day) planned to be released in the Launch Window (2-3 months) of the Wii's release. Well, that time has come and past and we are still Metroid-less.

Many people thought that is was delayed due to the fact that Zelda:TP was a launch title and it would have taken sales away from MP3, due to the fact that most people buy 1 game with a new console/gaming device. So then Nintendo told us Spring 2007.

Spring is here, but we still have not heard a release date. Many are wondering why they are holding it back. Many people are speculating that Retro is adding multiplayer/online play to the game. I wanted to believe this but reading quotes from the developer makes me think otherwise. Retro said that there would not be a multiplayer portion in this game because they wanted to focus on the main game-play and have it the best it can be.

So I got to thinking and I came to a conclusion..... They delayed Metroid not because they are adding a multiplayer/online portion to the game, but because they are adding a Wiiconnect24 feature to the game. Think about it; downloadable maps, weapons, suits, visors, extra content that would increase the actual game play.

Some of you are thinking that this would be great for online game-play but it would be great for extending the story of Metroid and giving it more replay value. Plus with Wiiconnect24 added on, Retro could actually add a whole multiplayer/online portion to the game.

This also would make sense considering that the Rumors of a External HDD for Wii will be making it's appearance soon. That will be the way to save downloadable content.

That's my take on the whole situation. I could be 100% wrong and they could be adding multi-player or online, but I would rather have wiiconnect24.
