Just a few hours ago, Nintendo released a system update along with the final version of the Wii Opera Browser! I have played with it for a bit now, and I must say it is a vast improvement over the trial version. Heres what this new version has to offer:

Several bug fixes
Improved scrolling
Improved zooming
Improved javascript support (and presumably flash to)
Improved dictionary (to help with typing words)
Improved favorites
Ability to view page info (url, title etc.)
Back and forward buttons
New and improved home pag
Improved toolbar, plus the ability to have it autohide
The ability to view websites in a single column layout
An operations guide
An area to change settings
Ability to clear cookies
More than one WiiMote can point at a time (only player 1 can do anything though)
...And more!

Thats quite a hefty list of improvements and new features! All in all, the final version of the Wii Opera browser is a massive improvement from the trial version we have had to use for several months. And whats more, it is actually useable! Now go download it, grab a snack, sit on your couch and surf the web ;)

For those of you wondering about price...well, it's free! At least untill june, so get it while it's hot. If you decide to wait till june, or can't get a Wii before then, the Wii Opera Browser will put you down 5 bucks (or 500 Wii Points). Not half bad, but free is better. Before you say anything, no, you will not be charged in june or afterwards if you download it before then.

As for the Wii update, well it seems pretty useless. For some reason Nintendo sends out a system update whenever a new channel comes out. Most likely to update the parental controls.
