According to Gamedaily, during a conference call it was anounced that Spore is no longer in the companys plans to launch during the current fiscal year (which ends next march).
In a conference call to discuss today's financial results, EA said that Will Wright's highly anticipated evolution sim, Spore, is no longer in the company's plans for the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2008. Most in the industry had expected the game to be released later this year, perhaps in time for the holiday shopping season.
'Tis a shame, many gamers all over have been wetting themselves in anticipation for the release of this game. Now, we all have to wait even longer to get our hands on it. I think I speak for us all when I say that EA, this delay better be for a damn good reason.
For those of you not in the know, Spore is a new game by WIll Wright (maker of The Sims and Sim City) in which you create your very own creature, evolve it and populate an entire planet with your species. Build vehicles, buildings, cities and even spacecraft. It's truly an awsome game. Check out more info (plus vids) at Spore's gamespace.
