Next month (July), Valve will be releasing a huge update to Steam, their own Online Distribution Service. The new features currently set for the update include "Steam pages", profiles, groups, scheduled games, reviews and more. All of these new community features will be fully compatible with all current Steam games.

The update will be entirely free, and you will also be able to access the new community features via Steam and via the web.
