Among the Nintendo news announced yesterday at E3 (sorry we were a bit late reporting on this one), it was also announced that there will be a Mario Kart Wii. Furthermore, this new Mario Kart game will have full online features, allowing you to race against people from across the world, much the same way you did with Mario Kart DS, only presumably in a much better fashion. But that's not all. Packaged with the game is a shell for the WiiMote. This shell is shaped like a steering wheel, so rather than hold the WiiMote on its side and steering that way, you will be able to use a steering wheel instead, making it much more realistic to play.

Nintendo also strongly hinted that there will be much more players than the usual 8. Hopefully in the coming months we will get more details on this.

No official release date yet, but the current schedule is set for a Q1 2008 release
