Intel currently topping out AMD in the performance crown for processors is going to take their market foothold even further by acquiring well-known psychics developer Havok, maker of the Havok engine.
The Havok engine has been used by a extreme amount of titles ranging from Halo 2 and Half-Life 2, to Age of Empires 3(Noted for it's psychics in a strategy title), Oblivion, and newer titles like Stranglehold.
All titles presently found on many PC Gamers shelves will give Intel a edge in the psychics area of the PC gaming market if Havok continues to grow and optimize for their processors.
However Havok will still operate independently and act as a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel. Havok founded in 1998 in Dublin, Ireland, now has offices stretching around the globe from Toyko, San Antonio, Munich, Calcutta, and Stockholm.
Details, and that ever so tricky "price" factor was not released to the public.
