Spore is the latest masterpeice from Will Wright, the guy behind the hit franchise, The Sims, as well as Sim City. In spore, you go through 6 different game phases. Tide pool phase, Creature phase, Tribal phase, City phase, Civilization phase and finnally, the Space phase.

Tide Pool Phase:
The Tide Pool Phase is where you first start out in the game. You will take control of a microscopic organism, eating other micro organisms that are smaller than you, as well as avoiding bigger ones and other dangerous foes. The Tide Pool Phase plays similar to pac man, and is also pretty much 2D.

Creature Phase:
Once you evolve out of the Tide Pool Phase, you will become a small creature. In the Creature Phase, you will directly control your creature in a lush 3D environment. Finding mates, finding food, avoiding predators and evolving your creature are among the things you must do in the Creature Phase.

Tribal Phase:
Once you have evolved your creature high enough, it will become sentiant. In this stage, you will have to manage an entire tribe of creatures instead of just a single one.

City Phase:
In the city phase, you will have to manage much more than a tribe of creatures. In fact, you will have to manage and build an entire city of them! This is when your creatures start to become really advanced.

Civilization Phase:
Once your city is established, your creatures will branch out and make more citys, creating an entire civilization.

Space Phase:
Late in the game, you will be able to purchase a space ship, which allows you to easily explore your planet, attack, teraform, colonize or just visit other planets, among other things.

In spore, you will be able to completly customize your creatures, create as many as you like, explore the galaxy, conquer planets, wage war, build buildings and vehicles, and much much more.
